About the course

Feel more at home in the Netherlands. Learn the Dutch you need to introduce yourself, order lunch, find your way and handle everyday situations. Short video lessons, reading, listening and practical exercises guide you from your first words towards A2. Study online, on your own schedule.

Everyday Dutch, from day one

Learn Dutch you can use straight away: greetings, filling in forms, ordering lunch, asking directions and reading departure boards. Every text and activity connects to a situation from everyday life.

Practice that changes every time

Vocabulary practice draws different questions on each attempt, so you practise the words rather than memorise answer positions. Repeat as often as you need. Regular reviews bring back words from earlier modules to help you remember them.

Built to a recognised standard

Follow the CEFR stages Pre-A1, A1 and A2. Each module has clear learning goals and activities that check your listening, reading, writing and vocabulary, so you know what each certificate represents.

Your pace, your schedule. Allow about 3 weeks per module: around 54 weeks (12–13 months) for the full course. Your pace may vary.

How your progress is measured

Each module includes a vocabulary and grammar quiz, listening and reading exercises, and a written assignment. Repeat quizzes as often as you need. Writing is marked complete on submission, then a model answer opens for you to compare your work.

Speaking is practised throughout the course: the lessons ask you to say sentences out loud. Oral production and spoken interaction are assessed separately, outside this course.

For students of University of Applied Sciences Europe (UE Amsterdam) with little or no Dutch who want practical language for daily life and the freedom to study on their own schedule.
